3 Days Tour Fes to Merzouga

Overview

Get ready for an amazing experience on this 3 days tour from Fes to Merzouga, where you’ll see the beautiful landscapes and culture of Morocco. 

We’ll start in Fes and travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and visiting cedar forests to see Barbary monkeys. 

Along the way, we’ll explore the green Ziz Valley, the old town of Rissani, and Erfoud, famous for its fossils. In Merzouga, the highlight of the trip will be a camel trek across the stunning Erg Chebbi dunes, followed by an overnight stay in a desert camp.

Tour Plan: 3 Days Tour Fes to Merzouga

Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Ziz Valley – Todra Gorges

Our journey will start early in the morning from Fes, heading towards Ifrane. Known for its Swiss-like appearance, Ifrane is a charming town that feels like a slice of Europe.

Next, we’ll visit the cedar forests near Azrou, where you can see and even feed the playful Barbary monkeys. After that, we’ll continue our way through the beautiful Berber villages, stopping for lunch in Midelt, a town famous for its apples.

In the afternoon, we’ll pass through the Tizi-n-Talghamt pass and enjoy the palm trees and kasbahs of the Ziz Valley before we arrive at the impressive Toudgha Gorges by evening, where you’ll have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: Todra Gorges – Tinjdad – Merzouga

After breakfast, we’ll take a short walk around the Todra Gorges to enjoy the towering cliffs and the river running through it. We’ll then go deeper into the desert, visiting Berber villages along the way.

Our adventure leads to Merzouga in the afternoon, where you’ll be welcomed with mint tea. You will then take a camel ride through the golden sand dunes of Merzouga while enjoying the sunset from atop the dunes.

At night, you’ll have a tasty Berber dinner and music by the campfire before resting in your equipped desert tent.

Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Ifrane – Fes

We’ll start the day early with an incredible sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, you’ll ride your camel back to Merzouga, where we’ll continue the drive.

We’ll stop in Rissani, a town known for its lively local souk, and Erfoud city which is famous for its fossil workshops. 

After a scenic drive along the Ziz Valley, we’ll pass by the cedar forests and stop again in Ifrane before reaching Fes in the late afternoon.
