Tour Plan: 4 Days Tour Fes to Marrakech

Day 1: Fes - Ifrane - Atlas Mountains - Ziz Valley - Merzouga

Today, our driver will pick you up from your hotel in Fes. Our first stop is Ifrane, a small town known for its clean streets and cool weather.

After a short break, we’ll drive through the cedar forests in the Middle Atlas Mountains, where you can see wild Barbary monkeys. Next, we’ll go through the beautiful Ziz Valley, famous for its palm trees and old mud-brick kasbahs.

By the afternoon, we’ll reach the desert town of Merzouga, which is right next to the large sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. You’ll stay the night in a riad or hotel with great views of the desert.

Day 2: Full-Day Merzouga Exploration On 4x4

After breakfast, we’ll start exploring the desert. Our first destination will be the village of Khamlia, where you’ll listen to and join traditional Gnawa music, played by locals with African roots.

Next, we’ll visit the old mining village of M’Fis, where people used to mine for lead. Later, we’ll meet a nomadic Berber family who lives in tents near the dunes. You’ll have tea with them and learn about their simple way of life.

In the afternoon, we’ll go on a camel trek across the endless dunes. You can try sandboarding and watch the sunset before going to the camp where you’ll attend a lively party full of Berber drums music played by locals.

You’ll have a delicious dinner and spend overnight in an equipped desert tent.

Day 3: Merzouga - Rissani - Erfoud - Dades Gorges

Rising early is recommended to catch the stunning sunrise over the dunes before having breakfast at camp. Afterward, we’ll leave Merzouga and drive through the towns of Rissani and Erfoud, famous for their fossil workshops.

Our next spot is the Todra Gorge, a dramatic canyon with towering cliffs where you can stretch your legs and take in the impressive surroundings. Continuing along the route, we’ll pass by local markets and scenic landscapes before arriving at the Dades Gorge, known for its unique rock formations.

The evening will be spent in a charming hotel where you’ll enjoy a traditional dinner and rest for the night.

Day 4: Dades Gorge - Ait Ben Haddou - High Atlas - Marrakech

After breakfast, we’ll drive through the striking landscapes of the “Road of 1000 Kasbahs,” a path lined with ancient fortresses and picturesque villages.

We’ll then arrive in Ouarzazate, the gateway to the desert and home to the famous Atlas Film Studios, where many blockbuster movies like Gladiator, The Mummy, and Game of Thrones have been filmed.

Our next stop is the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site that has appeared in several films. After exploring this historical landmark, we’ll enjoy a local lunch before crossing the amazing chain of the High Atlas Mountains with Berber villages along the way.
