Overview

In this 4-day tour from Marrakech to Fes, we’ll start with a scenic drive through the High Atlas Mountains. Visit the UNESCO site Ait Ben Haddou and explore Ouarzazate, renowned for its film studios, before we continue to Boumalne Dades via Rose Valley.

On day two, we’ll explore the amazing Todra Gorges, enjoy camel trekking in Merzouga, and spend a comfortable night in a desert camp. 

Day three includes a 4×4 excursion to visit nomadic families, Khamlia’s Gnaoua music, M’ifis mines, and more. The final day includes visits to Rissani, the Ziz Valley, and Ifrane before ending the tour in Fes.

Tour Plan: 4 Days Trip Marrakech to Fes

Day 1: Marrakech - Rose Valley - Boumalne Dades

We begin our trip from Marrakech, we’ll cross the stunning High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi N’Tichka pass, with stops to admire the panoramic views. 

Next, we’ll stroll the mud-brick houses of Ait Ben Haddou village and the old kasbah where films like Gladiator, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, and Game of Thrones were filmed. Afterward, we’ll further explore Ouarzazate by visiting the famous Atlas Film Studios and Taourirt Kasbah.

Our journey continues through the Rose Valley, known for its annual Rose Festival, before ending the day with an overnight stay in Boumalne Dades.

Day 2: Boumalne Dades - Erfoud - Erg Chebbi dunes

After having your breakfast at Boumalne Dades, we’ll head to the impressive Dades and Todra Gorges, where you’ll have enough time to explore the towering canyon walls. 

Then, we’ll continue to Merzouga village, where your camel-riding adventure into the Sahara Desert will start. 

You’ll see one of the most stunning sunsets in the world atop the dunes before going to a desert camp. The day ends with a local Berber music party around a campfire and a tasty dinner.

Day 3: 4x4 excursion to explore Merzouga area

We’ll begin the day early by watching the magical sunrise over the dunes. We’ll then go on a 4×4 tour to explore the Merzouga region, which includes a visit to nomadic families to learn about their traditional way of life. 

Next is  Khamlia village, where you’ll enjoy rhythmic Gnaoua music performed by locals. We’ll also visit the wild Merzouga seasonal lake, a serene spot, and take a relaxing stroll through a palm tree grove. 

The day concludes with a stay in a comfortable hotel or Riad.

Day 4: Merzouga - Midelt - Cedar Forest - Ifrane - Fes

On the final day, we’ll depart Merzouga and visit Rissani, a historical town with a bustling market. Continuing through the Ziz Valley, we’ll stop to admire its scenic views. 

Our next destination is Midelt where we’ll stop to have lunch. Afterward, we’ll continue our way to the lush cedar forests of Azrou, home to Barbary macaques.

The tour concludes with a visit to Ifrane, often called “Morocco’s Switzerland,” before arriving in Fes, where we’ll drop you off at the Airport or your accommodation.
