Overview

On this 3 days tour from Fes to Marrakech, you will explore some of the most beautiful places in Morocco. We’ll travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains, visit the pretty town of Ifrane, and stop in the cedar forests of Azrou to see the wild Barbary monkeys.

You’ll pass through the green Ziz Valley and the desert town of Rissani before arriving at the Erg Chebbi Sahara where you get to experience camel trekking and spend an overnight camping between the dunes.

We’ll also visit Todra Gorges, Dades Valley, and the ancient Ait Benhaddou Kasbah. Finally, we’ll cross the High Atlas Mountains to reach the lively city of Marrakech.

Tour Plan: 3 Days Trip Fes to Marrakech

Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Ziz Valley – Erg Chebbi

We’ll begin our trip from Fes in the morning, driving through the amazing Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop is Ifrane, a charming town known for its clean streets and European architecture.

Next, we’ll pass by the cedar forests of Azrou, where you can see Barbary monkeys. As we continue, we’ll reach the stunning Ziz Valley, famous for its lush palm groves and small mud-brick villages.

By late afternoon, we’ll reach Merzouga, where the Sahara desert begins. Here, we’ll ride camels into the Erg Chebbi dunes to watch a breathtaking sunset before we spend the night in a desert camp, enjoying local Berber music, a delicious dinner, and an amazing view of the starry sky.

Day 2: Erg Chebbi – Rissani – Tinghir – Boumalne Dades

Today, we recommend you wake up early in the morning so you get to enjoy an incredible sunrise over the dunes.

After breakfast, we’ll return to Merzouga on camels, then get back in our vehicle and drive to Rissani, known for its market and old buildings. If it’s market day, you’ll see locals selling their goods.

Next, we’ll continue to Tinghir, where we’ll visit the Todra Gorge. This canyon has towering cliffs, and you can take a walk along the river that runs through it. After exploring the gorge, we’ll head towards Boumalne Dades, driving through the beautiful Dades Valley.

You’ll spend overnight in a hotel, surrounded by the valley’s unique rock formations, including the famous “Monkey Fingers” cliffs.

Day 3: Boumalne – Skoura Oasis – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

Following breakfast, we’ll hit the road again and make our way through the Dades Valley, passing by traditional Berber villages and the green Skoura Oasis, filled with palm trees and old kasbahs.

Our next stop is the famous Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its ancient mud-brick architecture. This ancient kasbah has appeared in several films, such as Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and others.

Once we finish exploring Ait Ben Haddou, we’ll head over to the High Atlas Mountains, enjoying the views from the Tizi n’Tichka pass, which stands at about 2,260 meters.

We’ll get to Marrakech by late afternoon, marking the end of our adventure.
