Overview

In this 5 day tour from Fes to Marrakech, you’ll explore some of the beautiful parts of Morocco, like the Middle Atlas Mountains, the Sahara Desert, and famous places like Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah.

Along the route, we’ll visit the picturesque town of Ifrane, take a memorable camel trek through the desert, and enjoy a peaceful night under shooting stars at a camp.

Our journey will take us through the stunning Todra and Dades Gorges, visit the movie studios in Ouarzazate, and end with a lively tour of Marrakech’s bustling streets.

Tour Plan: 5 Days Tour Fes to Marrakech

Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Erg Chebbi

We’ll leave Fes in the morning and travel through the beautiful Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop will be in Ifrane, a small town known for its European style and clean streets. People often call it the “Switzerland of Morocco”.

Next, we’ll visit the cedar forests of Azrou, where you might see monkeys. After that, we’ll stop for lunch in Midelt, a town famous for its apples. Then, we’ll head to the Sahara Desert, where camels will be waiting to take us on an amazing ride through the dunes. 

We’ll watch the sunset on our way to the desert camp, where we’ll spend the night under the stars in a traditional tent.

Day 2: Erg Chebbi – Todra Gorges – Boumalne Dades

After breakfast, we’ll leave the desert and travel through small Berber villages on our way to Todra Gorges. These huge cliffs, surrounded by palm trees, are one of the most beautiful natural sights in Morocco.

After taking time to explore and have lunch, we’ll continue our journey to Boumalne Dades. The drive will take us through the picturesque Dades Valley, famous for its scenic landscapes and ancient kasbahs.

The night will be spent in a comfortable hotel room in Boumalne Dades.

Day 3: Boumalne Dades – Rose Valley – Ouarzazate

Day three takes us toward the city of Ouarzazate, and along the way, we’ll pass through the stunning Rose Valley, known for its blooming rose fields as well as perfumes, oils, and other products made from them.

Once we arrive in Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa” and a gateway to the Sahara, we’ll check out the well-known film studios where movies such as Gladiator, The Mummy, Kingdom of Heaven, and Prince of Persia were shot.

After lunch, we’ll have some free time to explore the city before staying overnight at a local riad.

Day 4: Ouarzazate – The Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

In the morning, we’ll visit Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its traditional mud-brick architecture. This ancient kasbah has stood for centuries and has been featured in many famous movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones

With your local guide, you’ll explore its narrow alleys, and towers, and enjoy the beautiful desert views. After the guided tour, we’ll have lunch at a nearby restaurant, where you can try local Moroccan dishes.

We’ll continue through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the beautiful Tizi n’Tichka pass with its amazing views. By evening, we’ll reach Marrakech, where you’ll take a rest, spend the night in a hotel or a traditional riad, and get ready for the next day.

Day 5: Exploring Marrakech With a Local Guide

On the final day, you’ll explore the best sights of Marrakech with a local guide. First, we’ll visit the Koutoubia Mosque, the largest mosque in the city, known for its stunning minaret that towers over the skyline. 

Next, we’ll head to the beautiful Majorelle Garden, a peaceful oasis filled with exotic plants and bright blue buildings designed by the famous artist Jacques Majorelle.

Our journey continues to the lively Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, where you’ll experience the heart of Marrakech with its bustling market stalls, street performers, and the rich aroma of spices and local food. 

Throughout the tour, our local guide will share fascinating stories about these places and their history. After a full day of sightseeing, we’ll take you back to your hotel, by then our 5-day tour from Fes comes to an end.
