Tour Plan: 7 Days Morocco Tour from Fes

Day 1: Fes – Meknes – Volubilis – Chefchaouen

We’ll begin the tour with a morning pickup from your hotel or riad in Fes and drive to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities. Here, we will explore landmarks like Bab Al-Mansour and the Royal Stables. 

After lunch, we’ll continue to Volubilis, an ancient Roman city filled with beautiful mosaics and impressive ruins that were there for centuries.

Later, we’ll travel through the Rif Mountains and arrive in Chefchaouen, known for its striking blue-painted buildings and alleys. You’ll have time to explore this beautiful city before spending the night in a local hotel.

Day 2: Chefchaouen – Rabat

Once you’ve had breakfast, you’ll have time to explore the unique streets of Chefchaouen and capture photos in its stunning spots at your own pace.

Then, we’ll head to Rabat, Morocco’s capital. Once there, we’ll visit well-known tourist attractions including the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the charming Kasbah of Oudaya.

The day finishes with an overnight stay at a hotel or a local riad in Rabat.

Day 3: Rabat – Casablanca – Marrakech

Today, we will drive to Casablanca along the coast. In Casablanca, we’ll explore the impressive Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest in Africa, and take a stroll along the Corniche.

Afterward, we’ll head to Marrakech, the vibrant red city, where you can explore the Jemaa El-Fna square in the evening before going to your hotel or riad for the night.

Day 4: Marrakech Guided Tour

We will spend the day exploring the highlights of Marrakech with a local guide. The tour includes visits to the Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, and the Ben Youssef Mosque. 

We’ll also visit the largest souk (market) in Morocco, giving you time to shop or take in the lively atmosphere. After lunch near Jemaa El-Fna, we’ll visit the iconic Koutoubia Mosque and the lush Majorelle Gardens.

In the evening, you’re free to further explore the city on your own.

Day 5: Marrakech – Atlas Mountains – Ouarzazate

We’ll leave Marrakech city in the morning and drive through the incredible Atlas Mountains via the Tizi-N-Tichka pass and old Berber villages.

Along the way, we’ll stop at the famous Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its role in movies like “Gladiator” and “Game of Thrones”. After exploring this ancient fortified village, we’ll continue to Ouarzazate where we’ll enjoy a delicious dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel or riad.

Day 6: Ouarzazate – Rose Valley – Merzouga Desert

After having a traditional breakfast, we’ll visit and discover the movie studio in Ouarzazate, then travel to Rose Valley, where a famous rose festival takes place each May. Next, we’ll admire the dramatic Todra Gorges, with their tall red cliffs carved by the Todra River.

In the afternoon, we’ll reach the Sahara Desert in Merzouga where you’ll hop on camels and start a unique adventure through the golden dunes while enjoying the sunset before heading to the desert camp.

In the camp, you’ll attend a party full of Berber Tam-Tam music, and have a tasty dinner before you go to sleep in your tent.

Day 7: Merzouga – Rissani – Ifrane – Fes

We’ll greet the early morning light in the desert and enjoy the sunrise, then we’ll ride camels back to Merzouga downtown. The next destination is the town of Rissani which was once a major trading center, we’ll explore its lively weekly souk full of all sorts of goods, spices, and clothes.

Afterward, we’ll drive through the Ziz Valley and visit a local workshop specializing in fossilized marble. After lunch in Midelt, we’ll continue to the cedar forests near Ifrane, where you get to see wild monkeys.

Our final stop is Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine-style houses and cool climate. The tour will end with a drop-off at your accommodation in Fes.
